Film, A Familiar Song, Coffee, And Dinner

On Wednesday, Nov. 20, we connected with Josiah Emery, who teaches at the Prague Film School. He gave us a tour of the school and talked with us about the various ways people enter the film industry. Since our debut :) as extras in the movie, Big Miracle, and as background talent in an Era Alaska commercial, we've been interested in exploring film. We took a basic film class in Alaska, and thought it would be worth checking out Prague Film School since we were in the area.

After our tour, we walked around the surrounding area. We saw this striking bit of architecture. The official name for this building is Tancici dum (The Dancing House), but it is more commonly known as the Fred and Ginger building, as it resembles Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers dancing together.

We had lunch at a restaurant called Paneria. They serve really good panini sandwiches, and they have free wifi. While we were eating, a familiar Czech song played on the radio. Liz was so excited, she pulled out the camera and got this video of us singing along.

That afternoon, we met Tomas Uher at Costa Coffee. Tomas works with UKH, a part of International Fellowship of Evangelical Students, a movement to reach students for Christ. It was good to hear what God is doing among students in Czech Republic.

That evening, we took the train to Uvualy (a suburb of Prague) to have dinner with the Mullen family. We can honestly say that our trip to Prague would not have happened, had it not been for John and Kelsey Mullen. They were our first contacts in Prague months before we arrived. They arranged housing for us, met us at the airport, introduced us to many different people, opened doors of ministry for us, and gave us opportunities to serve at Prague Christian Fellowship (PCF). John and Kelsey are the lead pastoral couple at PCF. We enjoyed hearing about their 18 years of ministry in Czech Republic. We are so thankful for the connection we have with them.
