We are enjoying spending a few weeks on the East Coast with family. Yesterday, we attended a candle-light service at St. Paul's in Ocean Grove, NJ. It was beautiful. Then after some hors d' oeuvres, we heard sirens screaming through town. We dashed out the door and what to our wondering eyes did appear, but Mr. and Mrs. Clause in a firetruck brigade rushing to the town square. Apparently, this is an annual tradition in Ocean Grove. What an interesting blending of sacred and secular Christmas traditions. Several years ago, we saw Radio City Music Hall's Christmas Spectacular. The culmination of the show includes a magnificent nativity along with the poem, One Solitary Life. Here is a classic version of this poem narrated by Bing Crosby, with images from various movies about the birth and life of Jesus.
I thought Liz might appreciate that the little girls have been asking about her. Miss you guys and hope you're having fun!
