Snow Blowing 101

During the winter in Alaska, snow creates a winter wonderland scene from October - April. While life at the camp is rustic, we still need to make sure guests can access the log cabins and bathhouse. Once we have a few inches of snow on the ground, we spring into action and clear the snow. I (Liz) have really enjoyed learning how to operate the snow blower. Our snow blower uses a track drive-train and is a two-stage model capable of throwing deep snow from trails or clearing an area of Psalm Lake (in preparation for ice skating).

  2. Such a beautiful winter wonderland! I like seeing the cabin in the background....
    it looks cozy. Any idea of the ice thickness on Psalm Lake? Also, hope you're wearing ear-protection while running the equipment.
