Snowzilla!!!

Recently we had the opportunity to visit Snowzilla, a snowgiant ("snowman" hardly suffices) who has been surrounded by controversy. As you can see from this article http://www.adn.com/2008/12/21/630926/city-code-officer-slays-snowzilla.html, Snowzilla has had his share of legal trouble, including a city code enforcement officer following up on city council members' decision that Snowzilla is "a public nuisance and safety hazard." The code enforcement officer left 3 red signs on Snowzilla's unfinished torso, telling his builders to cease and desist.

In the past, friends and relatives have rallied to Snowzilla's cause. Here we see seven of his younger siblings protesting for his rights outside of Anchorage City Hall.

Snowzilla has returned and may be around for a while. Some time ago, Richard Fern, a city code enforcement officer stated, "I don't foresee us really doing anything about Snowzilla this year. We've got other things that are more pressing to pursue than the snowman."

Billy Ray Powers hopes to put the finishing touches on this season's Snowzilla by the weekend so people can view the giant snowman at 1556 Columbine Street in Anchorage.

Billy Ray Powers, Snowzilla's human father, should be glad about this. If you are in Anchorage, Snowzilla is definitely worth visiting at 1556 Columbine St. Take your camera.
