Over the past few days, we've seen rain that seemed to fall slower and slower. The snow line has been creeping up and down the mountains, in a one-step-up, two-steps-down fashion. This morning, we smiled when we saw snow on the ground. Liz squealed like a school girl when she saw the snow. She never gets tired of seeing snow! Last year Liz wanted to see snow on her birthday. This year she got to be in the snow one day after her birthday. "Snow is a glorious gift from God!" she exclaims. Throughout the day, it snowed on and off, but it appears that it is melting about as fast as it is snowing. At the end of the day, we still have just a dusting of snow. Unfortunately, we didn't get a picture of the first snowfall (image above courtesy of Muffet on Flickr) but there will be more snow to follow for sure! We have snow shoes, sleds, shovels and cross country boots, now we just need to get the cross country skis! The hotel already has the big tree decked out in blue lights. The winter season has begun in Girdwood!
So the golf courses are closed in Alaska? :) Somehow the snow is so much more fun than rain! Praying for you both.
