We are saddened by the news that Winter, our furry friend, died a few weeks ago. Winter was one of the dogs we cared for this summer. So in one sense, we can thank her for making it possible for us to move to Alaska in the first place. Winter will be remembered for her companionship, her penchant for napping, her proud walk, and her love of snow. She would frequently plunge her head into the snow, plow it with her muzzle, and roll around in it. She also was quite fond of Liz's chocolate chip cookies, and other goodies thought to be stashed out of her reach. Rest well, friend Winter. We remember Winter as a gentle old dog.
