Lest you think that I (Brent) spent the entire summer touring Alaska with the Census, I thought I'd give you an overview of my time in Ketchikan. After getting off the ferry (picture above), we checked into the hotel, and I subsequently spent much of the next few days in a conference room (overlooking a parking lot) sorting through binders and copying 14 digit codes from Enumerator Questionnaires onto sheets of paper.
As we were leaving for the airport, I snapped this picture before getting into the shuttle.
Then at the airport, I took these two pictures of a jet taking off. These were all of the pictures I took while we were in Ketchikan!
I'm not complaining... I did get to see a lot of Alaska while doing Census. But there was also a significant amount of "real work" involved as well.
