North Pole: Santa's Home

In case you've ever wondered where letters addressed to Santa go, this is it! North Pole, Alaska is a suburb of Fairbanks. Here you can find the Santa Clause house, an enormous gift shop that sells all sorts of things related to Santa, and a few things related to Jesus.

They've been receiving letters from children for Santa for many years now. Many of them are posted on a bulletin board inside the gift shop next to the restrooms. Most of the letters are some variation of the following:

Dear Santa,
I have been good.
I want a ...
I want some ...
I want this ...
I want that ...
I want... blue if it's not too much trouble.
Thank you, (child's name)

Liz enjoyed shopping and got a few small items, but seemed to be more excited about meeting some new friends in the parking lot...

and in Santa's back yard.

Santa was on break, but he left this nice note letting children know they can sit in his empty chair.

Liz and Natasha theorize that Santa may live in this small apartment above his gift shop.

  1. Happiness is a truckload of Goldens! The one next to you, Liz, has the
biggest smile I've ever seen on a Golden. The one next to Brent looks like
our beloved Blondie of years ago. What fun!
